Meet the Sullivans: First Communion fun!

First Communion fun!

Last Saturday we celebrated our niece Megan's First Holy Communion! This is the name for a person's first reception of the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

"As Catholics we believe this event to be very important, as the Eucharist is one of the central focuses of the Catholic Church. Communion is when one goes up to the priest to receive the body and blood (Bread and Wine) of Jesus Christ. Just as in the last supper when Jesus said; "Take my body and eat it, it will be given up for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven, do this in memory of me."

I can't believe how quickly time goes by. I remember when Megan was baptized nearly 8 years ago. It was the first time I met her! The ceremony was beautiful and so special and the party that followed was so much fun!

There is nothing better than celebrating milestones with family you love.
