Meet the Sullivans: Wednesday Morning Brain Dump

Wednesday Morning Brain Dump

1. Wow, it's Wednesday, friends. Keith will be off on Saturday, which means we have a three day weekend coming up! We're going to a friend's birthday party at a winery (with Owen--wish me luck) on Saturday and to the outlets with Keith's mom on Sunday. It is going to be busy busy weekend, but SO much fun!

2. We signed Owen up for a Friday morning swim class starting in May. I'm excited to try a new activity with him and I think he is going to really love being in the water this Summer. I'm a little worried about the showering afterward logistics. I'll keep you posted on how all of that goes.

3. Last week I told you about the headboard I was drooling over and I have been checking back on Target's website three times daily to see if it has become available. Well, no such luck and I'm impatient, so I ordered a similar one for only a little more money and it will be here early next week!

4. I'm reading The Paris Wife right now and I'm really enjoying it. Whenever I read a fictional story I make up a mental picture of the characters in my mind. When I read 50 Shades I pictured Christian to look like Ryan Phillipe (I can't stand that man) and now while I'm reading this book I picture Ernest Hemingway as Denny from Grey's Anatomy. Is that weird? And for some reason I can't decide who Hadley looks like. Any idea?

5. I am loving the Aussie You Can Shine hair spray I discovered on Julie's blog. I've been using it when I curl my hair, which is very rare, and it is like magic hairspray or something I LOVE IT! What would I do if I didn't read blogs? I sure wouldn't have hair I'm happy with!

6. On that note: I love writing this blog, but what I love even more is reading other blogs. I mainly read blogs written by women in the same season of life as I'm in. DO you write a blog I should be reading? DO you have a favorite blog I should read? Leave me a comment!

7. I'm throwing out all of the Easter candy in this house. I love holidays and reasons to celebrate, but I'm thankful to not have any more commercial chocolate buying holidays coming up. I've had various holiday candy dishes filled with chocolate / whatever choice candy I've purchased since the beginning of October. That's nearly 6 months of filling and re-filling a candy dish. The sugar craziness stops NOW.

8. Why do I like to watch The Real Housewives of Orange County? The women are so fake and so is the show, but I have never missed an episode since the show began. It's a seriously guilty, guilty pleasure.

9. I just bought tickets this morning to take Owen to his very first San Francisco Giant's game. We're going to see the Giants play the Oakland A's. I can't believe I haven't been to a game since the Spring before Owen was born, so I'm really excited to go--it's one of my favorite things to do and I'm so excited we get to share it with Owen!

And I'll leave you with this cute video of Owen from yesterday:

You need a partner for swim class. You take a shower with him, then hand him off to your dry partner and you shower and get dressed. Both my boys learned to swim at Orange Park pool in South City, and the locker room is a zoo! So what I do is wrap them both in a towel, toss them in the car then they go straight in the tub when we get home. I can't stand doing that but it's easier then fighting for a spot in the locker room and shower.

Have fun at the winery and shopping!

I LOVE reading other blogs too. Sometimes it is hard for me to find time to post like I used to but I still find the time to read your blog and quite a few others :) I love reading about ladies that are in my same stage of life too.

(I just threw out all of our candy too)

Aww I wanted to watch Owen's video but it says it's private. He's a cutie for sure though! And I love your blog.
