Meet the Sullivans: The Big Decision + Randoms

The Big Decision + Randoms

1. The new Erin Condren 2013-2014 Life Planners are available for purchase! Hooray! My current planner won't be done until December, but I'm still going to buy a new one for when I'll need it! It always takes me so long to decide on which design I want because I usually like so many of them. The decision is even harder this year with the addition of the Gold planners--- which I'll probably go with! I can't wait to share the design I chose once I figure out what to order and finally receive it in the mail! Oh and there is a HUGE Erin Condren giveway going on too!

I can't decide which design I like the most! Which is your favorite?

2. Owen and I spent a lot of time at the Foster City Arts & Wine Festival over the weekend. We went with my mom and sister Saturday afternoon and then again with Keith on Sunday. we met up with friends, let the babies play on the grass, listened to music, enjoyed the Hawaiian barbeque (Keith's favorite!) and enjoyed some cold beers in the warm sun. It was a fantastic (and exhausting) time!

3. Owen's favorite part of the festival? Dancing to the live music! Is there anything cuter than a baby getting down to some live music?!? I especially love his new little dance move where he lifts his foot up in the air!

4. We watched Django Unchained last night. I can't decide if I liked it or not. The movie was really well made, kept my interest for the entire 2 hours 40 minutes, the scenery was beautiful, the acting was outstanding and the costumes were perfect, BUT I just can't get over how sad it made me. I knew going onto it that there were going to be many scenes that would be hard for me to watch.

I just can't stand to see how cruel people can be to each other. I know it was all acting, but the truth is that terrible things like this happened and continue to happen to people in our world--so it makes it really hard for me to enjoy it just as entertainment. Do any of you feel like this when you watch a movie / see a show / read a book?

5. I'm trying to do a little pre-week food prep in hopes it will encourage us to snack healthier. I always buy lots of fruits and vegetables at the store each week and we eat healthy meals, but the snacking is where Keith and I make poor decisions. If there are cookies laying around or tortilla chips we are much more likely to grab those instead of washing / chopping / slicing up fruits or veggies. So last night I spent a little time washing, cleaning, slicing and dicing some healthy "whole" foods for us to snack on.

My plan for next week is to cook quinoa, ground turkey, roast vegetables and grilled chicken and put them all in separate containers to use for lunches or quick dinners instead of ordering a pizza. I hope it works for us and that I can keep it up.

I am seriously mad at The Dog right now because he just barked at the garbage truck and woke Owen from his nap. There goes Mommy's break! Ugh.

The video of Owen dancing is sooo cute! I understand about the dog waking up the baby. It happens around our house too and it stinks!

I have a cracker problem myself. :) I buy a lot of fruits and veggies, too, and incorporate them pretty well into our meals, but snacks... Not so much. Having everything ready to go is a great idea!

I'm struggling to decide which design I want as well. I am finally getting my first EC planner after drooling over them for the past two years!

Owen is such a good little dancer! I love his moves! And those planners are seriously adorable...I think I might pick #1 or #3? But you really can't go wrong!

Oh, I'm with you on the planners! SO exciting. I always have a hard time choosing mine, too, but I'm seriously considering the gold edition. Love Owen dancing, and no - there is nothing cuter ;)

Oh - I almost forgot. The dog waking up the baby!?!? I get SO mad. We seriously don't have packages delivered to our house anymore, because A was the worst napper ever, and the UPS man woke him up once or twice a week!
