If you wanted to know my all time favorite cocktail (and it's hard to pick just one, because I'm not picky) I would have to chose the Mai Tai. I don't drink them often, but when I do, it's usually somewhere with a pool or beach just yards away. The flavors always remind me of relaxing in sunny weather!
I made a giant batch of these for Keith's birthday party BBQ last weekend, and it would be an understatement to say people enjoyed them! I made the drink the afternoon before the part to give it plenty of time to chill. We had a little drink station going with raspberry lemonade in the drink dispenser (my favorite serving piece for parties!), paper straws, drink umbrellas, garnishes (not seen: cherries, and orange + pineapple slices), and the pitcher of Mai Tais.
The Perfect Mai Tai
Makes one serving
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger spiced rum
1/2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger coconut-flavored rum
1 teaspoon grenadine syrup
3 fluid ounces pineapple juice
2 fluid ounces orange juice
garnishes: pineapple, cherry, orange
