KTMA | Style File

Hey, friends! Welcome to the first day of the Kid Tested, Mom Approved link up I'm co-hosting with Erin, Julie, Erinn, Emily and Vanessa! We are so glad you're here today linking up or checking out all the cool stuff everyone has to share!

We all know that dressing our kids is one of the funnest perks of being a mom! Today Erin of Hello Erin is hosting and we're all sharing where we like to shop, how we dress our kids, what THEY like to wear, etc. If you're here to link up follow the link up linky tool's directions at the bottom of this post (that was a mouthful!) and don't forget to include our adorable KTMA button (found below) in your post!

I love shopping for Owen! When I was pregnant with him I didn't know if our baby was going to be a boy or a girl, and I'll admit one of the things I was looking forward to about possibly having a girl was all the SHOPPING! I thought that having a boy meant the clothes shopping would be no fun, but I soon learned (as I shopped online for him after he was born while we waited to be sent home from the hospital) that shopping for a son is just as much fun as shopping for a daughter, but maybe just a little bit different.

I think my husband can vouch for the fact that I probably have too much fun shopping for him from time to time. We have a few favorite stores where we like to buy certain clothes. Let me tell you about them:

The Children's Place is my favorite place to buy Owen's pajamas and ever since I discovered how wonderful the stretchies are I rarely buy pajamas for him from any other store. They are so comfortable for him! The material is really stretchy and soft, they hold up really well after many wears, and the designs are adorable and change with the seasons. I still buy the occasional Costco jammies or Gap seasonal ones though.

Gap Kids is our favorite place to buy a variety of clothing for Owen. They make great quality coats, jackets and jeans. I've also been very pleased with the sweaters we've bought there -- especially the handsome one with the arm patches pictured below!

We go to the Gymboree Play & Music every week, and because we do this we get "Gymbucks" to spend at the retail store. I started using the Gymbucks to buy outfits for Owen when he was just a wee baby, and I have been so pleased with the quality of the outfits. I always buy an entire outfit from them a (few shirts, a sweater / sweatshirt, shorts / pants and matching socks) when I like a certain theme they have going. Isn't this owl one cute for Fall?

Target is a great place to buy graphic tees (I like the Cherokee brand best), especially when they're on sale! The Genuine Kids by OshKosh is a really cute line at a really great price and Circo makes nice thick sweat pants for around $10, which Owen wore all Winter long.

And just recently we received our first outfit from Fab Kids (an outfit club for kids)! The voucher that came in our August Citrus Lane box was for one outfit -- we chose the "awesome all day every day" t-shirt, orange skinny jeans and a few pairs of matching socks. I love the t-shirt, because Owen really is awesome all day every day and the orange skinny jeans will be fun all through Fall, but I am not in love with the look of them together. It's a little bright for me. If you'd like to sign up for Fab Kids too follow this link and you'll get 50% off your first outfit!

See how much fun it can be to dress a little boy? I pretty much try to make him look like a miniature version of his Daddy. It is certainly MUCH more fun than I ever imagined!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please make sure you check out all of the other wonderful moms linking up today to share about their child(ren)'s style! And don't forget to link up on Thursday when we'll be sharing some fun crafts and projects for kiddos!

Ok. I need to get on this "children's place" pj's thing. Because they are always SO CUTE!! Annnnd I swear gap's fall kids stuff is hands down way cuter for boys vs girls. I think I've picked up more than a few boys items for lex this fall!!

I don't go to The Children's Place very often but now I really want to go! I always forget about that store. Good choices!

Great tip for Children's Place pjs! I will definitely be checking that out. The Fab Kids outfit is a wee bit bright, but each piece is so cute on its own too. I bet you will have fun dressing each piece separately.

I have to check Children's Olace & Gymboree out. Both are in our mall and I've never really shopped there. What are the music classes like? I've never heard of them.

Baby Gap is always my most favorite. I love their stuff.

It's great that his fabkids outfit fits so well! Abigail's came while we were on vacation, but I haven't tried it on her yet- I need to get on that!
