Our Halloween started yesterday with a quick run for me, and a nap for Owen. I was so surprised to peak down at him in the jogger to find him asleep at 9am. A nap that early in the day almost never happens anymore, and usually it means there will be no afternoon nap, but thanks to some Halloween fun I managed to get him down for one anyway.
Our daytime Halloween fun included a quick stop at the library for story time and to see Aunt Kelly. Owen got to meet the sparkly red robot (dressed as a pirate for the occasion) that attends library events and he was completely smitten.
Afterward we picked up Aunt KC and headed to The Cheesecake Factory for lunch. I could eat the factory chopped salad everyday, along with a diet coke with extra ice. Then we
After dropping Aunt KC off at home Owen and I headed home for naps ourselves.
When Keith got home it we all hustled to get things going so we could get out trick-or-treating as soon as possible.
Owen says "Happy Halloween", but it usually comes out more like "Hallululululululueen"! We tried getting him to greet people along the way, but he was bashful!
We just went to the houses right down our street, probably like 10. He had such great manners out around the neighborhood, and said thank you after getting his candy, and he smiled a lot.
When we got home he LOVED answering the door with daddy and handing out candy, and a few times he even said "you're welcome" to trick-or-treaters after they said "thank you"!
We let him try a caramel apple lollipop and have a few m&m's when we got home --- he was happy as a clam! I think he's going to anticipate tonight being Halloween all over again!
And I just had to include a picture of him last year on his first Halloween dressed as a sweet little lion!
We hope you had a fun and safe Halloween! Today we'll be laying low around home recovering from all the festivities and putting away all of the Halloween decorations and trying to figure out how to get rid of all the candy.
