Five on Friday | Talking Preschools, Plays and Elf Diapers

Oh my, this week has felt like the longest one in a long while. Maybe because I cooked big dinners each night? Or because I was out two nights this week, which I never do? Anyway, I'm really glad it's the weekend, because I can't wait to spend time with my little family all together!

So to kick off this beautiful Friday morning I'm linking up with the lovely ladies behind The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday!

ONE. Non-stop celebrations. My month long birthday celebration -- kidding, it's only been 10 days long -- came to a close Wednesday night with the closing ceremonies aka dinner with the girls. It was just three of us this time, but as always, it was the best!! time. I just enjoy the company of my girlfriends so much and look forward to birthdays since it gives us a great excuse to get together. We had dinner at Town, in case you were wondering. Two lemon drops + the skirt steak = a super fat and satisfied Colleen.

TWO. Ridiculous Diapers. Have you seen these? Target is selling Christmas diapers that make your child look like an elf. Totally ridiculous, right? Yes.. but you know I went ahead and bought some anyway! I bought two packages, which would only allow me to change Owen's diaper twice a day in December ... I'm going to have to buy more elf diapers. There are also Christmas wipes available.

THREE. I really do read books (still). I've finally gotten around to picking up my Kindle again. After reading the description for The Kitchen House I knew it would be a great book for me, so I downloaded it right away. I haven't been able to put it down since!

FOUR. Wait, preschool? Tuesday night I went to hear a talk about chosing the right preschool for your child and family. I really got a lot of great information from the talk and almost all of my questions about how to chose a great preschool were answered. Next week I'll be going to a preschool open house where I'll get to meet representatives from lots of schools, which will hopefully make the decision even easier. But honestly, how in the world am I already sending this boy to school next Fall? PS The picture is of Owen playing with the Kindergarteners yesterday when we went to visit my mom at work.

FIVE. Pete and the Star Catchers. My sister and I are taking my mom to see Peter and the Star Catchers in San Francisco this weekend for her birthday. It has been really well received and won five Tony awards, so you know it's going to be amazing! I'm so excited to see this play, as I haven't see one since Keith and I saw Wicked years ago.

I hope you have a fantastic Friday and a beautiful weekend!!

Those diapers are adorable and awful at the same time! I might have to try some target diapers just for the holidays! :) Also pre-school yup on our minds too. Most SAHMs I know have their kids in something at least 1 morning a week by age 2! Just seems crazy although I can't lie I am looking forward to some extra time to get stuff done :)

CHRISTMAS DIAPERS!!! so so SO cute!! lex is currently sporting chipmunk diapers for fall- but the elfs are pretty darn cute. and owen being ready for preschool already! blows my mind! we're those crazy people who have our preschool all picked out (BUT its walking distance, AND mike went there. so lex is a "legacy"). I bet he'll be so cute at school with a little backpack!

LOL on the diapers! I'd totally be one of those moms that picks them up thinking they're the most ridiculous things ever as I'm putting them in my cart....and snatch up the matching wipes too! ;)

Those diapers are hilarious! Where were the printed diapers when my kids weren't potty trained?
