Meet the Sullivans: FIVE on FRIDAY

March 14, 2014

Happy Friday! I'm linking up with the sweet ladies behind The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday today!

ONE - While the Jeep is in the shop I've been driving around in this rental van. At first I was trying to not love driving a van, but my feelings have totally changed. There are so many conveniences it has to offer when driving around with young children: tv's, automatic sliding doors, many rows of seats, large windows for plane spotting, etc... We might be considering buying a van. Maybe.

And? This guy loves the van... so much tat he usually wants to stay in his seat when we pull into the drive way!

TWO - Owen finished his first gymnastics class this week! Sharing the equipment and sitting on the carpet while the teacher gave directions was a REAL challenge in the beginning of the session, but by the end Owen had it all figured out! By the last class he was sharing and listening like a rock star!

THREE - Before yesterday I had never let Owen use the little carts at Trader Joe's. I've seen other kids with them before, but just figured it would be better if I just kept our shopping trips as simple (isn't that a laugh? shopping trips with a toddler are never simple) as possible. He had so much fun helping put things in the cart and pushing it around the store, but next time I will go without a list or the intention of buying anything specific!

FOUR - I am so happy to be working with Huggies for their Every Little Bottom initiative. Did you know that 1 in 3 American families struggles to provide diapers and have no choice but to keep their babies in the same diapers throughout the day? Visit the Huggies Challenge website to take the Huggies® Challenge – complete challenges and win prizes. For every new challenge completed, Huggies Every Little Bottom will donate diapers to a baby in need!

FIVE - I couldn't resist buying Owen Hello California Hello Apparel t-shirt right when it went on sale yesterday!  I've always admired their tees and sweatshirts, so when I saw this one I knew it was meant to be! I resisted buying one for myself though!

We've got a birthday party for some toddler friends and a St. Patrick's Day celebration happening this weekend -- bound to be a busy and FUN one! Have a great weekend!

Oh my gosh, I have to comment on everything in this post! 1. I would want to stay in the van all day too if someone drove me around AND I got to watch a movie! 2. Owen looks thrilled to have completed gymnastics! Ha! 3. Oh the shopping are such a good mommy....we would totally hit up trader joes just for that reason (if we had one close by,that is). 4. Yay huggies! 5. OMG! How did I miss this shirt???? I NEED one and so does Hudson!

Oh that shopping cart looks like so much fun. I might go just to let her push it around one day, wth no intention on shopping!

I will never be a mini van mama. My family has had Cherokees since the early 90s, all because my mom refused a mini van, ha. Because of your post, I will make sure I never get a rental because of the fear of being converted LOL.

Love the shirt for O and excited for our gymnastic class next month, glad to hear it was beneficial and that Owen liked it. And so awesome you guys got to be part of the huggies challenge, definitely a cause worth spreading the word about!

i seriously love our van. and i despise it when people say they'll "never drive a van". i DONT GET IT?! why it there one type of car you won't drive? especially if its kinda awesome when you have kids!! i'm not saying they're for everyone- but what's with the passion behind hating the MV?! moving on. . . i LOVE owen and his gymnastics class- and his little shopping cart!! i attempted the cart a total of once- and it wasn't a relaxing shopping trip. owen looks like he's doing awesome!!

That shirt is sooo cute! Nice find!

I wish I had a reason to need a MV but I just don't at this point....but maybe someday!!

Loving the gymnastics completion picture, ha! Oh man, I wish we had mini carts. I loved pushing those things around as a kid.

I love that picture of Owen pushing the shopping cart! It's blurry like he is going SO FAST around the store trying to shop til he drops lol. You are one brave mama... if I let Mason have a cart, they would be clean up on aisle...everywhere!

I totally need to try the shopping cart at the store thing with Callie! our local store has them but I just haven't gotten brave enough to give her that much freedom at the store! You may have inspired me!
