Meet the Sullivans: Menu Monday + a Couple Things

Menu Monday + a Couple Things

I decided to make sure it was a clean week in the Sullivan kitchen this week -- for dinner at least! The warm weather just does that to me. All of a sudden the sun starts shinning and I want to eat fresh and be skinny! Anyone else? FYI the salmon one the menu is amazing!

Hey before I forget!! I drew the winner of the Medibuddy last week and the winner is entry #53 Amy S.! I've already contacted her, and the Medibuddy should be on its way!

I finished reading Sparkling Green Earrings this week, so I asked my Instagram friends suggestions for what to read next, and people named some great sounding books! High on the list were: Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars, The Kitchen House, The Mountains Echoed and Outlander. I remembered later that I can't buy any books until after Easter, so I put all of the suggestions on my Good Reads to-read list and borrowed Pines from my husband. So far it's really great! Word is that if you liked the tv show Lost, you'll love this book.

Umm, I would like to blame Costco for the very unproductive trip we took Saturday morning to the store with my mother-in-law. They put the display out for the new Little Tikes Spray & Rescue Firetruck they're selling. It comes complete with a sprayer", people... he could not just let that opportunity pass him by. Thankfully she was there so we could take turns doing our shopping while the other person followed the mini-firefighter around.

After church on Saturday night we went to the mall to do some shopping and have dinner. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory, because we think it's one of the easiest places to take Owen since it's loud and busy, so no one will notice if he makes noise, etc. Anyway I usually order one of their salads, but I was in the mood for pasta. I'm never in the mood for pasta, but I made a great decision in ordering the Farfalle with Chicken and Roasted Garlic-- it was amazing. I Google'd it and found some great copycat recipe, like this one, so I'm going to have to recreate it soon, but just with less cream.

Nothing like a good, old fashioned track workout to make the weekend (and that pasta!) feel right! I finally found that cool app that does the above graphic that I always see other cooler people using. It's called FitSnap if you've been wondering too!

I finally figured out that ISO helps control the light in my photos (all the camera people are probably saying "Duh!" in unison) and I feel like it has made ALL the difference in my pictures. These are looking a little yellowy. Blogger has been doing that to my pictures lately. I loved this tutorial I found on Pinterest for shooting in manual mode.

And THIS. This boy is so funny to me. He asked me to take a picture of him and his trucks -- whoops, couldn't fit them in the cut because of the prime lens I was using -- and this is how he poses and smiles. Does he not look like a big boy smiling for his first school photo or something? He's too much. I just adore his ever growing personality!

That's all for now! We're off to the beach today!

Thanks for sharing your menu, that salmon looks delicious. I love The Cheesecake Factory too, you really can't go wrong there. Costco has super powers, over kids and husbands, whenever we go we're there forever because they're both so distracted!

I saw someone leaving with a Jake and the Neverland Pirates water table the other day at Costco and I wanted it for Mason! HA. Good thing he didn't see it or we would have been there for HOURS. Oh, and your menus... your food always looks SO GOOD!

Love those sweet pictures of him laying on the floor playing with his trucks!

He ASKED you to take a picture? My goodness...he's growing too quickly!!! We also like to go to loud restaurants with Cam so nobody notices HIS noise. :) Happy Monday!

He is such a big boy! I love your photos (and yes to using a high ISO indoors - I never mind the grain all that much). I might have to steal some of those menu options. We are in a rut these days. That chicken salad looks awesome! And the pasta, of course!
