FIVE on FRIDAY

Happy, happy Friday everyone! I'm linking up with the sweet ladies behind The Good Life, Carolina Charm, A. Liz Adventures, and Hello Happiness for 5 on Friday!

I made the Weelicious Chicken Parmesan Wheels for dinner this week and they were a total HIT! Even with Owen, if you can believe it. So if you've got the cookbook and haven't made this one you're missing out!

It has been nice and HOT this week and we've been taking full advantage of this beautiful weather by spending as much time as we can in or around water. We hit up the splash pad Tuesday with Aunt Dinny, played with our friends Jen & Jacob in their sprinklers on Wednesday after soccer, dominated the splash pad with our friends Jackie & Nico yesterday and today we're planning to meet out playgroup at the kiddie pool. All this water play practically forced me to buy Owen another pair of Keens. He lived in the pair he had last year, and he will no doubt live in these this summer.

I'm reading The Fault in Our Stars right now, per the recommendation of many, and it is a great book. It is such a smooth, well-written book that it goes down easy like a cold glass of wine / beer / coffee / whatever you prefer to drink. The trailer though, almost had me in tears.

Let me complain about something here for a minute, k? I can't remember the last time I've slept all the way from when I fall asleep at night ---> through to when I wake up in the morning. Owen is 2 years-old (and almost 4 months), so you'd think we'd have this all down by now, but we do not. He's been up once a night, most often twice, for longer than I can remember. I was thinking last night (as I rocked Owen to sleep) how late I would sleep if no one woke me up. No dogs barking outside, no monitor buzzing (or toddler crying), no husband's alarm going off. How late would my body let me sleep? I would really love to know!

Had to share these, because I just can't keep all the cuteness to myself! It would be selfish. Have a great weekend!

i haven't yet attempted the chicken!! it looks fancy and far above my kitchen skill set. . . but it looks SO delicious!! i'm pretty sure i'll never sleep past 6am again. even when lex isn't around my body wakes me up bright n early (lex is totally to blame for it). and lastly. . . the fault in our stars. I LOVED IT. so smooth. and so good. and so tearful. and i'm not sure i'll be able to handle the movie because i'll be a hot mess in the movie theatre.

Okay, we love going to splash pads too and Keen's are a must! Although I also bought Liam a pair of salt water sandals this year, and I think I love them more! Definitely more fashionable! Liam still wakes up about 4 times a night, so I hear ya on the sleep! And those pictures of O are so sweet, I love them!

sleeping in? What's that?! I've been getting up way to early long before Callie so If she has a rough night, or heaven forbid we go out and stay up past 9pm, I'm still up before the sun! I hope you get some sleep soon though - being tired is no fun! And that chicken looks super yummy! I've been thinking about getting that cookbook from hearing you and erin talk about it! :)

That chicken recipe looks AMAZING! I'm going to run to the grocery store on Sunday to make it. Also, Fault in My Stars was so good and so easy! I love books that I can dive right in to. Another great one is And the Mountains Echoed.

I love those last pictures of Owen. So stinkin' cute. One question... if he was holding your camera...what were you taking your pics on? Was it your phone? If so, tips! How did you take such a great picture on your phone?! Happy Saturday!
