Meet the Sullivans: Our Busy Bag from Lex and Erin!

Our Busy Bag from Lex and Erin!

A group of us mommy bloggers got together to do a busy bag exchange, and today I'm here to show you what was sent to us. But first, what is a busy bag, you ask? It's a child-friendly bag or box that contains an activity the child can keep busy with, and is often educational. Busy bags are great for use at home, but they're also great to break out when you have to wait somewhere with a young child.

A big thanks to Erinn for coming up with the whole idea and for coordinating it!

Lex and Erin's busy bag could not have arrived at a more perfect time... O took a very early and incredibly short nap that day last week, and I was wondering what we were going to do to keep us busy all afternoon. Well, lucky me because our bag was filled with fun activities for O to keep busy with!

Inside there was a sweet note!...

And three fun activities! The activities were matching colors with popsicle sticks, an activity for practicing creating shapes and one that helps him work on fine motor skills. I  asked O which one he would want to play with first and can you guess which one he went for?

The popsicles! Of course he loved pretending to eat them just as much as he enjoyed matching them!

I've been hiding our little "bag of tricks" to be pulled out at special times, like when I need to make a phone call or start cooking dinner. I give O one of the activities at a time, and when he is finished with it we clean it up before moving on to the next one.

A huge thank you to Lex and Erin for creating such fun activities for O to play with! We both thank you!! If you'd like to see more adorable busy bags and boxes please visit these blogs to see what everyone else was sent!

And don't forget: Next Tuesday 9/16 we'll all be hosting a link-up to show off our DIYs for how we made our busy bags / boxes and we'd love for you to get in on the fun too, SO if you've made one in the past or have always wanted to make one now is the time!!
