We all know motherhood can be difficult, especially with a toddler at home, so we're here to talk toddler issues, mom to mom! For the next seven weeks a group of nine moms and I will be hosting this series on toddler issues ranging from how not to lose your patience to our favorite fun outings, and so much else in between. Each week we will discuss a different subject -- you can find the schedule of topics below. None of us are experts, but we can all share our experiences and tips, and hopefully learn something from one another!
This week's topic is Toddler Diaper Bag Essentials. I've shown you before what I carry in my purse, and what I used to carry in O's diaper bag, but today I'm going to show you what I generally carry around these days for O and I. Now that O is 2 years and nearly 9 months old, one thing I can promise you is that there is a whole lot less stuff in my bag these days -- and I'm so thankful for that!
When I take O out to the store, or any other quick trip, I usually just throw all of our stuff in my go to purse, Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Medium Pretty Nylon Tate' Tote. If we're going out to a place like the zoo or the park I'd need to bring more diapers and snacks and drinks, in which case, I pack all of his things in his Skip Hop Zoo backpack, which I store in the stroller and my things (money, keys, phone, chap stick) in a cross body bag.
I pack pretty light these days -- O doesn't need nearly as much as he used to! When we leave the house I always have with me:
- a small pack of wipes and a diaper (I keep a large pack and at least 3 diapers in the trunk)
- my sunglasses
- phone
- wallet
- gum
- lip gloss and compact
- keys
- a bar for each of us
- not pictured: a random car / transformer / Star Wars action figure or five!

I love that we need LESS now that they are older!! Snacks and a few books are all we bring...it is mostly for me, too! :)
Lol! Love the action figures! So funny! I am sure that day will come for me...only with My Little Ponies! :)
Look about the same as mine! At least when it's just Dh and I- now with Deeds in tow it's a different story. . .
Love this! I did a post about whats in my diaper bag when Brody was a baby, but I need to do one now that he's a toddler. I'm so thankful that we need so much less in the bag these days. Wet wipes are always a must :)
i feel like its so so refreshing to carry around a lot less now. i all too well remember the days of bottles and diapers and a billion snacks and blankets and burp cloths. . . and man o man. how did our shoulders survive?!
It was seriously the best when I got to carry less around and I got my purse back, and then I went and had another kid...haha! Luckily with the second you don't worry as much and you carry WAY less junk...seriously looking back, what was I thinking, carry 2-3 outfit changes when he NEVER used any of them!
I love how little you carry around with you! I wish I could do that, but somehow everything seems to end up in either my purse or the diaper bag. I really am working on simplifying what I tote around with me. ha. :) That's with carrying even less than I did when Emerson was a baby. Oh, dear!
I love that all of us have a main theme of "packing less" lol. It's so nice once they're toddlers, we don't have to carry a 300 pound bag around anymore :)
Love your bag!!! It's so nice to be able to pack less as they grow! :)
I love your bag and how lightly you pack! I keep trying to cut down a bit of what I bring. Once we are potty trained, I plan to bring next to nothing haha!
Love your purse! I loooove that you carry around so little! My goal is to dwindle down my load enough that I can start carrying a purse and ditch the diaper bag... by Mia's second birthday, ha ha!
