Meet the Sullivans: This & That

This & That

Hey, friends! Happy Monday morning to you all! We've been up since 4:30am this morning, so we're "starting" our day like every day should, with Wall-e (O's newest favorite Disney movie), coffee and breakfast under blankets on the couch.

-I'm guest posting over on Leah's blog, Everyday Love, today while she and her adorable family are getting used to being a family of four -- Leah just gave birth to their second child, a boy! The unit is full of fun was to incorporate pumpkin into educational activities. I hope you'll try some of them out.

-The countdown to Vegas is on! After lots and lots of searching I found a cute little Ruffle Front Romper to wear to the concert, which I'm really excited about. I never consider rompers because they don't seem convenient to wear (i.e. going to the bathroom), but this one fit really well so I'm going with it! I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to reading on the plane. I know, I'm so lame, but I really cannot wait to just sit and read and not feel like I should be doing something else.

-I found the cutest Halloween bunting banner on Friday at, of all places, Safeway! It's made by Papyrus, and our store sells a collection of their cards and gift wrap, but I was surprised to see such a cute decoration. It was $12.95 which really isn't too bad, considering similar items sell for $15-30 on Etsy!

-On another Vegas related note: I guess you could say I'm feeling very bittersweet about this trip. I'm really nervous about how O and I will do being apart. I know he will be fine, but I'm not used to being apart from him and I know I'm going to miss him so so so much. It actually makes my heartache to think he might wonder if I'm ever coming back.

-I mentioned above that O has been really into Wall-e lately, and I think it's really cute. While I adore Disney I never really loved their movies before O started watching them. I've always thought they were cute and well made, but I would never turn one on for myself. The funniest thing about watching movies with O is when he makes connections and comments. I love hearing what he has to say! Like when Wall-e is rummaging through all the junk on Earth and finds a bra, O says, "Mommy you wear those!!". He kills me!

- Keith and I made it out for our date night over the weekend. I love dating my husband! It was so nice to just talk during dinner without being interrupted, walk down the street holding hands without wrangling a little munchkin and watching a non-Disney movie. We went to dinner and to see Gone Girl, which was a great movie! It was totally disturbing and tense, but fantastic at the same time. Even Keith thought it was good! Kind of made me want to read the book again.

That's all for today!

Vegas will be so fun, but I completely understand being nervous about leaving O. I have been away from Liam overnight and I don't think either of us is quite ready. I've heard amazing things about Gone Girl and can't wait to see the movie!!! So fun that you two had a date night!

I just bought that book, waiting for it to come in the mail...Cute romper, I always love rompers, but they never seem to fit on me in the right places, ya know? Have so much fun in Vegas! :) You almost always miss the kids way more then they miss you...which is good and bad. Good that he is adjusted well enough that he can be without you without a melt down, and bad because he can be without you without a meltdown...
