Meet the Sullivans: Five on Friday

Five on Friday

Hey there! I'm sure we're all soooo glad it's Friday. This week has been great because we're getting back into our groove with our regular routine of school, the gym, cooking dinner, etc., but we're still looking forward to the fun the weekend always holds.

Let's get to it!

1. Have you listened to Serial? Keith got me hooked on it right before Christmas and once I started I couldn't stop listening. SNL did a hilarious spoof on the podcast that imitates the narrator, music and rhythm of the original so well.

2. Keith gave me a Veggetti Spiral Vegetable Slicerfor Christmas and I love it! I've only used it for zucchini so far, but you can use it to spiralize carrots, cucumbers or potatoes too. It has been an easy way to throw together a healthy lunch. Earlier this week I sauteed some garlic in olive oil, sliced up and added an Aidelle's chicken sausage and then added a spiralized zucchinni with a little Kosher salt -- and topped it with a little fresh parm. It was delish!

3. O's 3rd birthday is a week from Sunday. Three, 3, THREE! Hard to believe, my friends! We're celebrating with a big Pirate themed birthday party at his favorite play place with lots of his little friends. O and I went to the party store yesterday and he helped pick out some little decorations. I decided early on that I just wanted this party to be fun and easy, so I haven't taken on any DIY, and I'm so happy about it. He can't wait for his Pirate Party!

4. I've been waiting for the FitBit Charge HR to become available and Wednesday it finally did! I bought one later in the evening, when it was already on back order, so sadly, I have to wait a few weeks for it to arrive. I'm so excited to be able to track all my fitness info and stats in one place -- I'll definitely be writing a little review once I've been able to use it for a while!

5. I've been working on a few crafty things since the year started and I'm looking forward to sharing more details about them next week -- stay tuned!

We're heading to the gym this morning and  got a date night planned this weekend, but not too much else, so I'm looking forward to a weekend full of fun possibilities! Have a great one!

I got hooked on Serial back in October and I was obsessed! You're so lucky you don't have to wait a week between episodes! I got a Fitbit flex for Christmss and really like it so far. I'll be interested to hear all about the fancier version!

Serial is AMAZING!! And that snl spoof was so spot on. I died laughing! I want a spiral thingy too. Do you love it?! I have my eye on them every time I hit Williams Sonoma or Sur!

Yes! I have been waiting on the FitBit Charge HR also and then was disappointed by the color choices. Whats with the drab colors they offer for that but the pretty colors of the other FitBits?

I though the same thing, although I really just wanted black, I thought I'd check out what they offered. Maybe they'll come out with more options once they go through the initial release?

The Veggetti is so easy to use and clean I love it. There's the WS Spiralizer, which looks awesome, but it just takes more space than I have to spare. I think it has more capabilities though!

I don't think I would have liked having to wait to hear more! I totally binged on it and listened to it while O napped, so I'd hear 1-2 a day and it was awesome.

Those vegetable slicers look so cool how they turn any vegetable into pretty much spaghetti :) My friend uses it all the time and I am always amazed at what she cooks up with it. I've never heard of serial, it sounds pretty cool though Is it like a book but in a podcast? If yes I'm gonna listen!

I'm listening to Serial right now! Just starting but so far it's good. I totally want one of those veggie spiral slicers too! So awesome. And yay for getting a FitBit Charge! We got Jawbones for Christmas and I loooove it!
Have a great weekend!

Yes for the veggie slicer! I got one a couple of months ago and use it all the time. Your son is adorable! Pirate parties are the best and I can't wait to see how his turns out! I hope you have a great weekend. :)

Love the idea of a veggie slicer! Can't wait to see your Valentine Craft!

Serial is a little different from a book-- it's actually better and there aren't any boring parts. It's by NPR and the narrator and a team of other journalists investigate a murder in which the man serving time may or may not be guilty.

I have been really curious about getting a veggie slicer! I love spaghetti squash, but I worry about how well I will actually execute the project in the kitchen... Can't wait to see your upcoming crafts!

three. Crazy huh? My girl will be four in may. Three is a whirlwind, I tell ya'. The beginning was.....interesting, and by interesting I mean "drama". She's starting to chill a bit now and the personality coming out is nothing short of amazing. This morning baby brother was bugging her and she tells me "Momma, brother wants the boob" :O ....so that he would nurse an leave her alone.

I'm hoping Carson is a much more chill toddler...boy and all. She's a crazy Momma 100%. LOL

I am hooked on Serial too!
Also, I got a veggetti a few days ago and wasn't sure where to start so yesterday when I saw this post I totally copied your recipe and it was AMAZING. I'm on day 7 of whole 30 so everything but the parm is whole 30 friendly. If you make anything else with it, I'd love it if you posted the recipes either here or on IG!

I absolutely will share some of my other ideas -- nothing fancy or outside the box though. Glad you're doing so well on Whole 30!

Hahah -- I can already tell 3 will be full of new challenges and not just milestones, but conflicts!

Thanks! I'll share it later this week :)
