I'm starting back with my Motivational Monday posts this week in hopes in will keep me on track -- bathing suit season is only months away!
Goal: Make healthy choices for me and my family, including making healthy food choices and staying active.
Progress to date: Since I started writing these posts I've lost about 7 lbs, making quite the plateau around the holidays, but I'm back on track now.
Highlight of last week: Taking 13, 300 steps on Wednesday and surpassing my 10,000 steps-a-day goal most days this week. My FitBit is a real motivator.
Challenge of last week: Making a baker's dozen of cute teddy bear sugar cookies for O's class and not eating one myself!
Workouts: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday were gym days. I've been doing 30-40 minutes of strength training, followed by 20-30 minutes on the stair climber. We also did a walk around the block one night this week, earning me an extra 1,300 steps.
Lessons I learned this week: According to my FitBit I am more sedentary on the weekend. I still reach 10,000 on those days, but I don't achieve it until bedtime. I know this is because I make a conscious decision to spend less time picking up and straightening the house on the weekends in favor of spending time with my family, which is wonderful. I'm hoping to balance this out by getting out for a walk on the weekends too.
tuesday - (Mommy will be out!) Pizzas for Keith and O
wednesday - turkey-pesto meatballs, roast tomatoes and zucchini zoodles
thursday - slow Cook Paleo Sesame-Orange Chicken (Over Coconut Cauli Rice)
friday - slow cooker chicken tortilla soup with avocado
Now we're off to the outlets to do some shopping! Hopefully all that walking will earn me 5,000 steps by lunch!

Ah I didn't know you got a fitbit! We should be fitbit friends! You can find me here: https://www.fitbit.com/user/22NL2J
Good for you on your goals and exercising! I'm trying-key word trying-to be better and work out. It's just so hard on some of the colder winter days.
7 lbs?! Awesome job! I think the Fitbit is such a motivator, but I rarely get over 7,000 steps of I don't make it to the gym. I would love to be friends on Fitbit... I'm always curious how active other SAHMs are!
