Did you have a nice Valentine's Day? The weather this weekend was gorgeous and we had lots of time with people we love!
O and I spent Friday morning at the gym and then at the park with our friends E & M playing in the sand and on the slides. The kiddos exchanged valentines and O was thrilled to find the one he was given had sweet tart candy in it. I let him have two pieces on the way home and he was in heaven -- I think he's getting into this Valentine's Day thing!
Later that afternoon O and I crafted some cute little valentines to give to his Granny and B. I did the cutting and he did the gluing and stamping. And he told me the hearts should have smiles!
While dinner baked I made icing for the cookies we gave out and then when Keith came home I got down to icing them, which always takes some time and concentration. I don't have the steadiest hand, so they're far from perfect, but I think they turned out pretty cute!
Saturday morning we went out for a nature walk with my mom and sister. We brought O's bug catching kit and made it about 1/2 a mile before turning back. It was a beautiful day and so fun!
Saturday evening we had plans to go to dinner and a movie, but our sitter got sick, so we had to change our plans last minute. We ended up taking O with us to our favorite Mexican restaurant and to the mall for a (not so) "little" treat. I think O felt pretty special going out on a date with us (we kept calling it a Family Date) and he was such a sweetheart the entire time!
The next morning we gave O his little Valentine's Day gift from us (CAT worker trucks for the sand and Good Night, Good Night Construction Site) and went out to play at the park! We followed the park up with some bike riding and sandwiches.
The rest of the weekend was business as usual with grocery shopping, dinner at home, the gym, naps, lunch with a co-worker for Keith and a Mother's Club meeting for me.
Hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day!
