BOY!!! We're so thrilled to be adding another sweet little boy to our family in December!
As you may know, Keith was pretty sure we were having a girl, Owen thought it would be a boy and I had no idea. I probably leaned a little more toward betting we would have a girl just because almost all of our family and friends have one of each, and I just thought we'd be no different -- but we ARE and we're so happy!
I played around in my mind in the weeks before our appointment about what it would be like to have two sons, and I'm looking forward to watching those day dreams become a reality for our family!
The ultrasound was loooong, as they check everything during the exam to make sure the baby is healthy and progressing well. Our baby is measuring a tiny bit ahead of schedule, which is great, and all of his organs are developing or there!
Owen came with us to the appointment and he was extra patient. We found out the gender about 1/3 of the way through. The tech passed by the area a time or two before letting us look and take a guess, so I had a pretty good feeling I saw some boy parts. The second time she scanned by them Keith and I looked at each other and mouthed "boy", and then she focused in and asked me what I thought, and I told her "It's a boy, right!!!?" and of course she said yes! We're thrilled, it is so exciting!
Owen was, and still is happy and excited about the results. He doesn't totally get it, and he already thought the baby would be a boy, so to him I'm sure this just confirms what he already thought was true.
If I'm being completely honest and practical I have to admit that having a boy will be a tad bit simpler for us, especially "stuff" wise. We have tons of boy clothes and toys, we're already used to being a boy family and now I can plan for their shared room to be fitting for two sweet little boys!
Anyway, we're excited to share the news with all of you and now I'm off to plan that shared boy room!

Yay!!! Congratulations! You are an amazing boy mama!
Congratulations!! Now you can justify spending a little extra on the room since you won't have to buy all new clothes & things ;)

yay!! so happy for you!! we're having our second girl, and although i kinda had my heart set on a boy (just because like you said.... one boy, one girl, right?!) but the clothes & everything else is so much easier with the same gender! owen will LOVE having a little brother to play with!! congrats!!
Aww congratulations and love the bow tie ultrasound! Sounds like a special moment. I have a baby boy and as much as I'd love a girl, I'd also really love for him to have a brother. So, I know your little guy will just be so excited when he arrives. Happy news for your family :)
Super exciting, Colleen! I love having two of the same, and I'm sure you will too!! :) And funny how O was so sure. Abigail was the same way! When we told her it was a girl, she was like, "yeah. i know"
congratulations!!!
Congrats!!! I bet the boys will be the best of friends and it will be such a gift to watch them grow up together.
