Meet the Sullivans: Luke is THREE Months!

March 2, 2016

Luke is THREE Months!

Is it possible for your own baby to give you "baby fever"? I'm afraid it might be, because Luke makes having a baby feel like the easiest most wonderful thing in all the world and he makes me want to do this again and again. I'm so in love with this darling little man!

Stats: We don't see the doctor this month, so I don't know your exact height, but according to our scale at home you weigh around 15lbs. You wear 3-6 month and some 6 month clothes right now. You must have gone through a growth spurt because you grew out of the 3 month clothes quickly. You are wearing size 2 diapers.

Eating: I honestly don't pay too much attention to how often you eat. I nurse you on demand whenever you seem like you're hungry which is probably every 2-3 hours depending if you've napped between feedings.

Sleep: You fall asleep really easily and can stay asleep through lots of noise. During the day I let you nap in the car seat if we're out and about, in your swing, in the crib, in my arms or whatever is comfortable for you and works with what your brother is doing. You take a long morning nap most days, and then two other short-ish ones throughout the day.

At night you sleep in our room in the co-sleeper. You have a real bedtime now, right around 8pm when Owen goes to bed. I had moved Owen into his crib by this point, but I don't want to move you yet, which is in part because you're my last baby and also because I'm not ready to move you into the same room as your brother. I'm worried that will be a hard transition for all of us.

You were sleeping so well at night, but for the past two weeks you've been up 2-3 times in a night. Maybe because you're growing so much? I always change you, feed you and then lay you back down. It's an easy night waking routine, but I'd much rather do it only once or not at all ;)

Health: You've been in great health this month, so there isn't much to report. Your head is rounding out a bit and you've steered clear of the coughs and colds the rest of us have had. You've been drooling a lot lately and gnawing on your hands with some fierceness, which makes me wonder if you're going to be teething early?

Development: You rolled from your back to your tummy a few days ago! It hasn't happened again since, so maybe it was a fluke, but it was pretty exciting to watch! Tummy time is getting a bit easier for you to tolerate and you love "sitting" upright and watching your brother play. You've also been grabbing and swatting at the toys on your play mat. You make eye contact with anyone who talks with you and give out lots of smiles. You're such a sweetheart. You coo and goo and squeal for us, and you LOVE chatting with your brother. He's pretty much your favorite person!

And you were baptized this month! A few pictures from your baptism and the luncheon that followed...

Little Luke, you're growing so quickly and we're trying our best to soak up all your sweet babyness. God truly blessed us when he gave us you! You were well worth the wait.

xoxo, Mommy
