Meet the Sullivans: Dear Mom,

May 6, 2016

Dear Mom,

Dear Mom,

Happy Mother's Day! How can I ever thank you enough for all you do for our family, for all you've ever done for me and all the love you've always given us?

Kath and I had a fairy tale childhood, filled with love and happiness; you always made it look so easy. I know now that it really isn't as easy as you made it seem. Anything I know about being a good mom is because of you! When I'm stuck in a tough mommy situation, and I don't know what to do I just try to think about what you would do. A few of my favorite mom-isms:

"It doesn't have to be perfect" I think of this often when I need to give myself a little grace or a break. There are so many times that we feel pressured to do it all, but it doesn't all have to be perfect. Good is good enough.

"First come first serve" I remember you saying this to me when I would want to back out on a commitment to take on a better one. You taught me to have integrity and stick with my choices even if it meant not always getting what I wanted.

"If you like it, buy it" Great advice from a professional shopper! This has saved me lots of time and stress, since I just force myself to make the right decisions rather than wallowing over deciding.

"Turn the other cheek" You're better at this than I am. I have a hard time letting go, but I try to be like you and just forgive and forget.

We love you so much mom and we're looking forward to celebrating you this weekend!
