Anyway, let's pretend we're hanging put sipping coffee and catching up, 'cause this is probably what I would be talking about. Here's what's been going on with us lately...
// I've spent all week preparing for and worrying about the test I'm taking this morning. Can you believe I have been working on my teaching credential for over 6 years? Talk about drawing things out. When I started working on it I was a brand-new teacher, working full-time in my own classroom and I felt like a full load of course work was too much to handle, so I took only a few units at a time (mistake #1). Then we got married, and we had Owen, and I was almost done with my classes, but not quite. It took me even longer to finish, because my focus had changed, and I was concentrating on my family. It was even harder to leave to go to those last 2 classes and study, because I had to leave my family to do so. Anyway, here I am with two kids and I'm finally taking the final test I need to apply for my California Teaching Credential. I guess the lesson here, young ladies and gentlemen, is DON'T WAIT to finish your degrees, because life will, inevitably, get in the way, and those classes and tests you feel are hard now will be a million times harder when you have people other than yourself to care for.
I'm done ranting now!
// I'm behind on my monthly update for Luke, but he turned 8 months this week! He's thisclose to really crawling and he want to GO so badly. His new thing is trying to wiggle out of my arms to go somewhere, but once he gets free he can't go anywhere and he gets mad. Sigh!
// I've heard a few people talking about Find Her lately, so I downloaded the sample, and started it last night before bed. Can I just tell you that the first few pages TERRIFIED me. I finished the first section and actually paused to consider if I wanted to keep reading before bed, because I thought it would give me nightmares. I'm not usually into thrillers, but this one is really drawing me in, because I know from the description that the main character is a real fighter, and I want to see her succeed.
// I feel like I might be the only person in the world not watching the Bachelor or getting excited for the Nordstrom sale. Tell me I'm not alone!
In blog news, I want to say thank you to everyone for putting up with my more frequent sponsored posts in the last 6 months or so. I try to make them fun, with pretty pictures, and something that I would probably blog about anyway, and I hope they are still relevant and enjoyable for you! All this to say, thanks for sticking around!
Also, I'll have a little giveaway going on sometime next week, so make sure you enter! It's a good one! Have a lovely weekend, my friends!
