Friday Five - Bugs, Camping and LipSense!

How has everyone been enjoying the first official week of summer? It's been seriously hot here for most of the week, so we've been trying to get out in the morning and stay in in the afternoons. We've had a fun week with quite a few summer bucket list items checked off.

1. Our Owen is such a bug lover! This week he found and caught a cricket in the backyard! He has pretty much zero fear of creepy crawly things, which is the opposite of me. I don't want to touch them or even look at them too much, but I've become more comfortable with them since having Owen.

2. We went berry picking at Webb Ranch this week and the boys had so much fun! It was pretty hot so we didn't stay long, but both boys spent the entire time eating berries. Luke wasn't too sure about what we were doing, since this was his first time, but once he realized he could eat the berries he was really into it. We came home with lots of berries, and Owen has grand plans for olallieberry sherbet this weekend!

3. I jumped on the LipSense bandwagon and ordered Aussie Rose and the Glossy gloss and it arrived last week! It really does stay on forever, although it did fade a bit after dinner. I love the color I picked. It's a subtle pink that could probably work on most people. I think I'll likely buy another shade in the fall, if not sooner!

Here's what Aussie Rose + Glossy gloss looked like on after I'd been wearing it for a couple hours.

4. Keith and Owen took off on a father-son camping trip yesterday. Owen has wanted to go "real camping" in a tent for a few summers now, so he was so excited to be going. He packed his little backpack with all the supplies he deemed necessary, i.e. miniature bottles of water, bug spray, stuffed animals, a lantern and some snacks. I can't wait to hear all about their adventure when they get home tomorrow!

5. Lukey and I had a great time today just the two of us. We went to Gymboree, for a walk and Target. The house was so quiet, which was nice, but by the end of the day we were both really missing our two bigger guys.

Now we're off to the gym and Ikea. I hope you have a great weekend!

Father's Day Weekend + Menu Monday

Hey there! Did you guys have a nice Father's Day weekend? We had a great time celebrating our favorite guy last weekend. We shopped, ate, swam and tried our best to stay cool in the 100 degree weather.

I've been using most of any free moments I get to pack or prepare us for moving in a couple weeks, so I haven't spent much time blogging, so first before I get down to rehashing the weekend I want to share a little about Owen's Pre-K graduation!

Owen graduated from Pre-K on two weeks ago and I think my face might still be sore from all the smiling. Seriously, his PreK teachers are amazing and they put on the sweetest graduation. I mean, they really don't have to do too much to make all the parents smile from ear to ear.

I just loved watching Owen sing the songs they had been practicing and of course we loved hearing his little end of the year questionnaire. We were a little worried about what his answers might be... would be rat us out about letting him watch the iPad and play Minecraft? But he gave super sweet and honest answers. We're so proud of him!

We absolutely loved Owen's school and we're really going to miss it next year, but we're so excited for him to start Kindergarten.

And I have to mention how proud we are of the Warriors for winning the Finals this year! We're big Warrior fans here in the Sullivan house so Finals season was extra exciting! Go DUBS!

On Saturday we went across the bay to have lunch at Fenton's and to check out the Pottery Barn Warehouse sale to look for a few things. We didn't end up buying anything at the sale, although we did see quite a few of the Benchwright pieces, so if you've been eyeing those it is worth a trip to check them out. They did not have the buffet table I was hoping for- such a bummer.

Lunch was, of course fantastic! My favorite thing to order at a diner has always been a BLT and this one does not disappoint -- look at all of that bacon. I could only finish half, it was huge.

The whole point of visiting Fenton's is to have their ice cream, which they make in small batches right there on-site! Keith, Luke and I shared a banana split and Owen had a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

Sunday morning I let Keith sleep in a bit, and by sleep in I mean I didn't nudge him to wake-up at 6am with Luke like I usually do on the weekend. When Keith came downstairs we made him coffee, the boys tackled him, he opened some little gifts (a Warriors Tervis, a Warriors Finals t-shirt and a hand-made coin catcher from Owen). I made chocolate chip pancakes with maybe a little too much chocolate chips in them, but the boys still loved them and Owen deemed them the best thing he's ever tasted in his life, of course, because he lives for chocolate!

The temperature rose to 100 degrees on Father's Day, so in the afternoon we went swimming and BBQ'd with family - it was a really nice day! This was Luke's first time really swimming in a pool. He didn't hate it, but he wouldn't show that he liked it much either. He clung to me the entire time and pretty much made that face, the one I call a "Luke face", which is a cross between a glare and a smirk. Owen had a blast swimming and playing games with his Aunt and Uncle and cousin. It's always

Owen has been really into picking out his own clothes lately. I usually pick out his clothes in the morning and then if he needs to change he likes to pick clothes himself. I was pretty surprised Sunday morning when he picked out his entire outfit on his own, from the hat all the way to his shoes! He said he picked it all out because it looked "really super summery". I love that boy! Meanwhile, I brought Luke to the gym in his pajamas.

Last week I made the Egg Roll in a Bowl I've heard so many people talk about, and we all liked it, so it's on the menu again this week.

And here's what's on our dinner menu for this week:

MONDAY - Pesto Turkey Meatballs / Spaghetti Squash / Salad

TUESDAY - Egg Roll in a Bowl / Roast Broccoli

WEDNESDAY - Slow Cooker Pork Tacos with Escabeche

THURSDAY - Pork Burrito Bowls

FRIDAY - Out or Take-out!

What's on our menu for this week? I'm always looking for new, healthy, quick recipes to try! I hope you had a nice weekend!

Friday Five

Hey there and happy Friday! The weather is heating up and there's a fun weekend ahead, so without further ado, here's my five.

| O N E |  This handsome boy finished his last day of Pre-K yesterday! It was surreal picking him up from school yesterday knowing that it would be the last time I would be doing that at our amazing preschool that we've loved for the last 3 years. He's grown so much there and I feel so fortunate for all the great experiences and friends he's made.

The beautiful, yet looong days of summer are ahead of us. I love summer, don't get me wrong, and I LOVE my kids, but sometimes the days seem so long. In an attempt to not bore us all to pieces (or spend too much time staring at screens) this weekend Owen and I are going to make a little summer bucket list. I'm going to keep it on hand for a little inspiration when I plan out our weeks in hopes to fill up some of the weeks when we don't have camp or aren't packing / moving!

| T W O | We've made a few big purchases in the last week including our refrigerator (went with the 3-door, thank you for your input on my Instastories!), washer + dryer, upholstered headboard and king size Tuft & Needle mattress. I can't say which of these I'm most excited about, but it might be the refrigerator!

| T H R E E | The winner of our Gymboree giveaway is Gina Blades! Gina, I will be emailing you your gift card today!

| F O U R | Earlier this week this picture popped up in my phone. This is what our house looked like one year ago, and we're still not in it. Can you believe that? It's been delayed and delayed and delayed because of weather or whatever, but we finally have a closing and moving date!

I've started packing some of the things we don't use as much, ordered bubble wrap for our breakables and booked the movers. We have less than 5 weeks until our move and a few busy weekends, so I want to get started early! Anyone have moving tips to share?

| F I V E | Check out the yummy cocktail recipe I shared today and the cool service that allows you to order all the ingredients from your phone right to your doorstep!

RECIPE: Tropical Breeze Cocktail

Hey there! I have a great cocktail recipe to share with you today! It's refreshing, tropical and easy to make -- it's perfect for summer!

You can make one or two at a time and you can easily multiply it to make it in bulk for a punch (see that recipe below)! You know what makes this summer cocktail even easier than it already is? Drizly!

Drizly began in 2012 when two friends, co-founders Nick Rellas and Justin Robinson, were curious why they couldn't get beer delivered when nearly everything else had become so readily available through technology.

By building a platform that combines competitive prices and the widest selection online, Drizly brings the liquor store right to your smartphone. By partnering with local retailers, the beverages come to you when and where you want them.

They currently serve customers of legal drinking age in 40 markets across U.S. and Canada.

They work with local stores so you can shop their shelves using your smartphone or computer to order beer, wine and liquor at the touch of a button! A big thank you to Drizly for providing the ingredients for this cocktail recipe!
